Here’s one of the big reasons I dig this Tumblr community. There isn’t a visible class system. Well, there is, because of the whole eliteness thing. I’m in the lower class of receiving love & being in people’s crush list, but in relation to my point there is no rich/poor class system.
I’m not a college graduate. Not even a community college graduate. I did some community college and then just worked.
I follow and interact with lots of college graduates and professionals that make 3 times as much as I do.
In a real life setting I wouldn’t even associate with folks who make 3 times as much as I do because I would find them annoying and pretentious. Not to mention they probably wouldn’t hang out with me. Don’t get me wrong, I do hang out with graduates. Cool ones only though.
But here none of that matters. I follow programmers, drop outs, unwed mothers, recovering drug addicts, drug addicts, corporate professionals, porn stars, politicians, and the whole gambit of the internet where the only education I require from them is the ability to use possessive pronouns properly and not be a douche bag. Unless you’re a funny douche bag at which point I may make an exception.
